Our inspirations

Using Conventions
- In our trailer we used low key lighting for most of our shots. This was to create a dark and eerie feeling. This was seen especially in the killing scene and when the victim was being dragged up the stairs.
- Some of our scenes were shot during day light so that featured natural lighting so we decided to darken those shots within post production using different effects. For this convention we decided to look at 'it' in which they used dark lighting in their trailer to create this moody feeling.
Developing conventions
- We took inspiration for our trailer from Gacy (2003) trailer as it is based on a true story. We based our killer on the character 'John Wayne Gacy' who was a serial killer in the 70's his day job was a clown.
- Most of our killing scenes were filmed in what would be considered a safe environment. We then developed on Wes craven's theory which a stereotypical safe place is used for a killing for example a police station.
Challenging conventions
- For our trailer we challenged conventions of the stereotypical female victim who gets killed, however we challenged this by using male victims who were not seen as vulnerable.

MAGAZINE COVER
Following Conventions
- Our magazine cover followed the conventions of EMPIRE Magazine in which we put our main character on the front cover of the magazine we also kept a simple non distracting background to keep the attention on our main villain. The information that we have used also adheres to the style text common on Empire and other film magazines such as Total Entertainment.

Poster Design
When we made our poster we decided to go against conventions and use a white and bright colour scheme for our poster. We did this to make the makeup stand out and keep the clean and precise theme. For the image of our poster we used a photo of the clown makeup next to a severed finger. we decided to do this to continue the portrayal of the killer clown in our trailer which is based onto a true story. We took lots of inspiration from the old I.T trailer which uses a white background to make the redness and the images stand out.
